In 1902, in the city of Itu, German immigrant Adolf Steiner, in Brazil since 1889, opened, together with his son, Max, the German Bakery and Confectionery. It is in this bakery that Max, after work, gathers his friends to enjoy the drinks from his homeland: Beer and Steinhäger. To accompany the drinks, Max prepared his specialty, steak with egg on top with freshly made tomato and onion sauce. In the 1930s, there were so many steak lovers at the German Bakery that Max, always attentive to demand, added a Bar and Restaurant to the Bakery. It was at this time that Antártica Beer launched its draft beer and Max's establishment became the first and only one in the interior of the state to have this product and became another differentiator, as draft beer was a rare product.

In the 60s, in addition to the already famous steak, Bar do Alemão, as it came to be called by the public, offered other delicacies to its customers: Fillet Parmigiana.

Paulito's sons, Marcos Netto and Paulo Jr. started to run the business and in addition to expanding and renovating the old facilities, they launched what is still the flagship of Bar do Alemão in Itu, the famous Fillet Parmigiana.

This delicious recipe, combined with the generous cut of carefully selected meats, made Parmigiana from Bar do Alemão the best known and most famous in Brazil. It is the passion for good food, good drink and socializing with friends that makes Bar do Alemão internationally recognized today.
